LAWS, Bruce Henry

No. 5832328, Private, Bruce Henry LAWS
Aged 28

2nd Battalion, Duke of Cornwall's Light Infantry
Killed in Action on Wednesday, 10th May 1944

Bruce Henry LAWS was born in Worlington on 25th November 1915 (Mildenhall Q4-1915 4A:1598) son of Henry and Mary A LAWS (née COPSEY)

His family were gardeners, father Norfolk born, but his grandfather Henry was from Lakenheath. CWGC have his parents living in Wandsworth, but Bruce is recorded as living in Suffolk, so possibly they moved away during the war..
That would seem to indicate that he is the Henry B. LAWS in the 1939 register , single, a boot and shoe repairer, with Alfred COPSEY [15-11-1888] a farm labourer.

10th May 1944 was the day before the start of the 4th and final battle for Cassino. More research is needed to find what the battalion were doing on the 10th.
